STESSED TO THE Nth Degree

I don't remember feeling like this the first time around....Today I am just so sick to my stomach I can hardly function. I am usually very good under pressure and today I am going around in circles trying to remember what I am supposed to be doing. I checked my list and everything seems to be done but I just can't help feeling, well helpless!, ~LOL~ Oh well just 11 MORE SLEEPS!!!! Look out Sophia here we come!!

Less than two weeks to go!!!

Well the countdown is on....less than two weeks until we fly out to pick up our new daughter. As long as the wait seems to be to get the referral, this part ALWAYS flys. We have only had over two years to prepare and are we ready yet??? NOOOO!!! Oh well the bags for Sophia are almost packed and I made that last run to Shoppers Drug Mart for all the last minute baby meds and necessities that will be needed to live in a hotel room with a small child for two weeks. Thank God for Shoppers Optimum Rewards Points is all I can say! I finally think that I have the packing thing under control and all that is left to do is weigh the bag, YIKES!! If it over the "in China" limit of 44lbs it will be back to the drawing board.

Jenna and Sophia's bathroom is finally complete and I will post a couple of pictures but the batteries were weak in the camera so it really doesn't do it justice. It is truly fit for a princess!! Jenna absolutely ADORES it!! I will continue to post next week as the countdown continues!!!

WE HAVE NEW PHOTOS!!!

Last week I decided to contact an organization http://www.blessedkids.com/ and request their assistance to send photos of our family and also try and receive up to date measurements of Sophia and pictures. Well lo and behold late last night we receive all Sophia's measurements and new pictures. It was just the best day ever. She is ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE!!


She is as at January 25, 2008, 15.5 months old:

weight 8 kilos, 17.6 lbs (6.79 kilos)
height: 72 cms, 28.4 inches (71.5 cms)
head/chest: 43 cms, 17 inches (44 cms)


Coincidently Jenna was at 12 months the measuments in brackets above! Hard to imagine. Bring on the 12 month clothes...Guess I will be repacking again ~sigh~ oh well, it will be the last time, hopefully!!!

Where we are going!

It so strange this time around with the computer and internet we can access so much more information than when we travelled last time. ARE WE THERE YET!!?????

We received our itenerary today from our agency. It is so exciting to finally see where we are going and what we are doing!! It would appear that we will receive our girls on Monday, March 10, 2008!! I can hardly wait!!

Children’s Bridge In-China Itinerary – Group 253

Mar 08: Families arrive in Beijing and guide will meet them at airport and transfer to Tian Tan Hotel.
Mar 09: Beijing to Nanning

Nanning

Mar 09: Arrive Nanning 16:30, transfer to Nanning Hotel.
Mar 10: Go to the Civil Affairs to meet the child and sign the adoption agreement.

Mar 11: Go to the Civil Affairs for the adoption registration, notarization and to apply for the child’s passport.
Mar 12: Sightseeing or orphanage visit – pending confirmation from the Guangxi Civil Affairs Department.
Mar 13: Go to local department store to buy some daily necessities for the child.
Mar 14: Pick up passport. Nanning to Beijing!

Beijing

Mar 14: Nanning families arrive Beijing 20:30. Guide will meet families at the airport and transfer to Tian Tan Garden Hotel.
Mar 15: Visit the Great Wall, lunch included. (Cable car is not included.)
Mar 16: Forbidden City and Hutong tour.
Mar 17: Medical for the child, and go to the Canadian Embassy for visa appointment.
Mar 18: Shopping
Mar 19: Pick up visa in the afternoon. Beijing duck dinner in the evening.
Mar 20: Leave Beijing for home on Flight , transfer to airport.
