Ancient Village

For those who thought I posted the last of photos sorry but the title was created late night and well it was just the last of a lot of photos, lol! Today we visited an ancient village. We thought it was a tourist attraction but was actually an old village but with people still living there. Poverty is just to small a word to describe what we saw. However they are so happy. And yup...traditional style toilets to boot...yuck!!! We had lunch at a restaurant in the village which was outside and there were trees growing in it and dogs running through it....quite sanitary I might add but the food was good. Sophia had a late night last night and while she slept through the night we had to wake her this am at 8 am to talk with JJ!! She was so excited (both shes that is) and we were so happy to see JJ on the web cam! Therefore she slept the whole bus ride to the village and the whole bus ride back, two hours each way!! Hopefully she will sleep like that on the plane!

We got home at supper time and Mike had McDonald's (iron guts) and I had spaghetti from Pizza Hut with Sophia. We then had passport photos and we were off to shop! Again! I bought some shoes for JJ and some adorable jackets for she and her sister. We came home, gave Sophia a bath and she went out in less than a minute. After a 4 hour nap this afternoon we hope she sleeps the night! Tomorrow we head out and while I am anxious to be home with JJ I wish we would stay here for the rest of our time and skip Beijing. We are so comfortable in Nan Ning and the locals are so curious but friendly. I have posted photos below...Enjoy! I wanted to post a lot of photos but blogger is very slow tonight so I will try again later as I am heading off to bed

Phew! What a relief...Love the pics Barb, the bath one is adorable...I'm guessing its a comination of being tired and maybe not liking baths that much? Have a great trip back to Beijing, looking forward to more updates! Jenna must be so excited! Marilyn D.

Funny ...I was going to ask you about bathing today...remember how the girls hated it & screamed so? Mmmmm, at least Sophia is sitting in her 'tub'! I can hardly wait to see pictures of Jenna & Sophia together - not long now! what a treat to have your web cam there. Enjoy Bejing!! At least we can imagine you there ....and watch out for the duck bills at the Peking dinner!! Happy travels. :)

Called home and was talking to JJ they made colored eggs and one fell on the floor! JJ was very excited to tell me that she talked to Sophia and then she showed up on the computer! and she is only about a year and a half auntie Mary that's very little. I will have to take care of her. Looks like Sophia doesn't like the tub like JJ! Mr. M is off to Ottawa for the weekend so I'll stay in NB. Love you!

Hi Barb, Mike and Sophia: SO nice to see and chat with all of you last night and today. We all were to Walmart yesterday afternooon. JJ picked up a gift for Sophia. We went to Cunard restuarant for supper. When we came home Pat and Jenna dyed some Easter eggs and left to dry until today and she is going to put stickers on them. Mum and Jena are outside now and Jenna is slidding as there is lots of crust from freezing rain. We are having stew for supper. Bet that will be delicious. Jenna looks forward to chating with you and seeing you on web cam. I also downoad the photos from your blog and she views them 2 or 3 times a day. You all looked tired this morning. Enjoy your free day. All is well on this end so enjoy rest of your stay in China. We are planning on going to Dalhousie maybe Sunday afternoon or Monday morning depending on weather forcast and traffic. Mary's wedding plans are all falling into place which is nice for She and Mario. Have a super week-end . May God keeep all 3 of you close to him as you start your journey HOME...All our Love ...Jenna, Mum and Dad oxoxox
